Each year, Liska draws thousands who come to honor the legacy of Hershele Lisker, also known as Tzvi Hirsh Liska. Liska contains over 500 Jewish historical sites, from cemeteries to synagogues, embodying a storied heritage. By the late 19th century, the Jewish population of Liska reached nearly 3,000, enriching its cultural environment. Liska’s legacy has reached nearby towns, notably Kerestir, impacting Jewish life in Hungary. Today, Liska attracts around 5,000 visitors annually, each drawn by its historical and spiritual significance.
